I pocket carry my Shield 40, which has the Talon rubber grip installed. I feel the Shields stock grip is too slick. The Talon grip adds a lot more gripping power. I live in Florida, and in the summer it is hot and humid. There is no instance of a slippery feeling to my grip with the Talon grip, however before the Talon grip was installed, just a little sweat made the grip very slick. No the grip does not get hung up on the interior of the pocket. It is not a tacky grip that would pick up lint, it just adds additional soft rubber feel for a better gripping surface. I highly recommend the Talon grips.
I pocket carried a Ruger LC9 for two years, and for the last two and a half years with my Shield 40. Both guns had Talon rubber grips installed. Both are the original grips and have not peeled off, and are still well attached. The secret is to carefully clean the grip with extra alcohol, make sure the grip is fully dry and clean, then apply the Talon grip material. Don't allow the grip material to overlap, and if it does just trim it. Then heat it with a hair dryer to approximately 150 degrees which seals it down. You don't need to get it too hot.
For carry I only use the rubber, but for my range or house guns, I use the granular grip, which is like a 80-100 grit sandpaper. It offers an even better slip resistant surface, but it would cause too much wear to your skin, clothing, and holster. If I shoot a lot with the granular, it starts wearing my skin off, it is that rough, but there is zero slip.
