Is there a way to reduce or eliminate side to side play of a cylinder? The reason I ask, is I have a 357 revolver and noticed that the cylinder moves slightly from side to side, seems that maybe the hole in recoil plate in the back of the frame might have some side to side wear, the cylinder then has some side to side play allowing the cylinder to move away from the hand, I noticed that because of the end play the cylinder does not close nice and tight, and may be causing timing issues since timing works off contacting the side of the hand it is not making full contact with the hand and in some cases does not carry up as far as it should.
