Question, What are these four arrows?

Model 65-3 Ga Parole Board. Does anyone know what these 4 arrows indicate? I have never seen that on the 20 Smiths in my collection.

Yes...the stamped S and the arrows indicate Spring direction

It could be a stamp left over from the raw metal before it was made into a frame

I wonder if that’s some kind of armorer’s mark.

I have never seen another like that arrow, but some of the duty or institutional guns have unique markings

Can't say what the arrows mean, but the S means 'stainless' to differentiate it from regular steel frames prior to blueing.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe revolvers that were assigned to a student at the S&W Armorer's Class were marked like this. I went to the class in 1980 so my memory may not be so good.
