I may ask this on one of the Ruger boards, too, but thought that you guys might be more likely to know.

Bianchi lists their Model 5 BHL holster for the Ruger SP-101 with the three-inch bbl. But I read somewhere that a fellow bought one and it didn't fit; the thumbsnap wouldn't close. The girl on the Bianchi phone told him that he needed to stretch it!

I have one that I think is marked "Sm. Revolver. " The thing fits my S&W M-60-4, but the Ruger won't let the snap close, however hard I try to stretch it. Lacks a good quarter-inch, maybe more.

Does anyone have this model of holster for this gun, and is it made specifically for the Ruger? I don't want to pay $95 for the holster (MSRP) and find that I can't use it!

Thanks,

Wet the leather, put it around the gun (helps to wrap the gun in plastic or somesuch for this step) and you should be able to stretch it, or take it to a shoe repair place and ask them to stretch it.

Tried wetting it. Wouldn't stretch enough.Don't want to trust the gun to a shoe store owner.

I have a 5BHL for the 3" SP101 and it fit fine, no issues. I've since sold the Ruger, but the holster works as well with my 3" Colt DSII.

Many thanks.

I thought this board would have the answer. :)
