I lived in Charles City VA,, we cut down a tandem dump truck load of black walnut trees in 1972.
The trees were solid, and all were over 24" in diameter.

We contacted all the saw mills and lumber buyers we could find,
no one would offer a nickel for the logs,,
The trees came from a field where the civil war had passed through.
I guess the possibility of lead ruined any value the black walnut might have had,,

After 6 months,, we backed the truck to the beach next to the James river.

The logs were dumped, we had a great bon fire,,,,

I went with Mom to one of the local parks where she does Master Naturalist work in their butterfly garden this weekend. I was testing out a new Canon 80D camera body. Got some good pics and wanted to show off a couple.

Very nice shots. Love the depth of field in the hummingbird and butterfly photos. What lens were you using, and what's your exposure data for those two shots?

What do you suppose the snake was swallowing? Any idea? I can't tell.

I was happy to see this thread still going! Really enjoying seeing everyone's photos!

I've been pretty busy and not on here much but this thread is perfect for showing what I HAVE been doing. ;) (which is working on my photography!) Here's a few of my recent shots.
