I have a M&P Smith & Wesson 380 Shield EZ Pistol and I am new a at this. But what kind of ammo can I use at the shooting range for this pistol.

Any .380 acp ammo you want... And can get.... Be prepared to pay too much if and when you can find it.

Welcome. I have a .380 EZ and I use:
For range use, full metal jacket (fmj) with bullets weighing 90-100 grains. 95grn fmj is probably the most common loading manufactured. It has been in very short supply during this ammo crisis. Brass cased instead of steel cases cost a bit more, but most feel it works better in most guns.
Cost has been up to a dollar per round if you could find it, or $50 for a box of 50 rounds. That is more than double the normal price. If you can find a few boxes locally for $0.45/rnd you will be doing well. I see online bulk orders at about this price. I expect in 6 months it will be much more available and cost <40 cents per round.
There is a lot of 380 ammo imported from European manufacturers. It’s good stuff. The name brand American loadings are as good but some times cost more.
Do some searches here on the 380 EZ for good hints and tips. I love mine and have had no problems with it.

Be sure to check with your range as some ranges will not allow you to shoot aluminum cased rounds. I shoot at a range with this rule.

No idea where you are but GT Distributors has about half a shelf full of ball for $27 box of 50. This is in JAX. Fl. but maybe all their stores have it?

I have used several brands. All worked just fine. I did have one FTE on very first magazine fired but I think I was limp wristed. Flawless since then.

Speaking as a late to the party 380 shooter,
I just bought a Ruger LCP Max, good luck to you Sir!
380 Ammo is pretty difficult to find.
As least around here.
I recommend you consider an online bulk buy.
Use a finder site like AmmoSeek and select the Brand and supplier you think will work for you.
You will probably pay in the 60 cents a round range.

380 is hard to find around here. My LGS has been well stocked with Hornady Critical Defense. VERY pricy at $43. Last week they had Winchester white box for $30 per box of 50. I might have bought some but I had just recently bought five boxes of new from Freedom Munitions for $28.50. Not my preferred brand but they have always functioned well in my Bodyguard.
