Last year I had an opportunity to try out one of these things while visiting my in-laws down in FLA. This week one of these contraptions turned up at my local pushers, so I just had to give it a try.
I installed in onto a S&W 1911:
Results at 25 yds, including a bunch of sighting-in shots:
It jammed or stove-piped on 4 shots; the last rounds in 3-shot magazines used for sighting. For some reason it worked OK with fully loaded mags:
Anyways, it was a lot of fun; it got a fair amount of spectator interest, but it's not something that I'd want to stake my life on.
I guess that my biggest complaints are that the bolt doesn't lock open with the last shot; the safety lever is rendered non-functional; and also that despite the "new and improved" collapsible stock, it still makes a really weird banjo-like noise when shot. I'm gonna keep it, but will upgrade the red-dot to something a bit bigger. Any other experienced observations out there ? -S2
