Finally got a chance to shoot my new 21-4 today. Ran a cylinder of Magtech cowboy loads through it - not wildly impressed with their accuracy. Fairly large group. Certainly some of it is the shooter, but not all of it.
Worked my way up through my handloads, and it seems to do pretty well with 16.0gr of 2400 behind a 240gr Keith-style. It's a heavy load, kicks like a mule, but I put all three into six inches (albeit about six inches low of center) off-hand from 20ish yards. I'd be comfortable taking a deer at close range with that load.
Overall, I'm very impressed. Action is smooth and the trigger is great. Yes, it's got a hole in the side. So what?
Next step is to fine-tune my loads a bit more; I may bump it up through the 16's to 17 and see where things group well.
