Recently my MP9compact went to Smith for a repair because it was not firing some ammo. I went to the range today and fired about 50 rounds of Winchester White box 115 gr. 9mm. All was well except for one round that fired but did not eject. The case was in the chamber, so I cleared the weapon and the shell came out. I noticed that the case had the primer blown completely out of the brass. Is this just a bad ammo situation or a bad weapon? I fired more rounds, and the weapon worked fine. Any input would be appreciated.

I spoke to SW this afternoon and they said that CCI is what they use. The man also told me that much ammo is being made fast and with off shore components due to demand. Who knows if this is true or not, but QC is not what it used to be. I'm old, and I have shot many weapons for 40 years without the problems that I am experiencing now. Tough being a dinosaur.

The only problems I have had in my M&P .40 is the WWB with 2 FTF.
I have switched to the Federal 100 round bulk, which has not only been more consistent, but is cheaper to shoot as well.
WWB 100 ct $34.87

Federal Bulk 100 Ct $27.87 (30.07 with tax)

I have some Federal which I will try next time out. The demand for ammo is so high that many companies are outsourcing their ammo, with mixed results from what I have read on the net.

It's almost like we need a national cease fire for a month or two so the ammo manufacturers can catch up.

The only failure I've ever had with my shield 9 mm is WWB. Federal has been flaWless all 1200+ rounds.
