I found this Victory this morning, it's ugly but is mechanically great, tight with a slick action, and a nice bore....$200.00

Serial V525509

No US Property marking.

No inspector's mark other than a P.

Serial was scrubbed (or not added) on the butt. Barrel and cylinder serial numbers match.

Horn grips.

Can't beat it for a knockabout shooter. ;)

So, are you saying the serial number on the butt has been removed? Did you buy it from a FFL holder?

I just don't think it was ever there.....I looked it over with a loop and there is no "ghost" or grind marks at all, just the same parked finish scratches the rest of the revolver had.

Same with where the US Property would have been....Nothing, and no indication there was ever anything there.

The barrel, cylinder, and star serials are just fine. I guess the FFL went with those. I never asked.....Don't really care.

$200 was a real bargain but now the naysayers will climb on and tell you if there is no serial number on the butt you must cut it up, give it back or bury it in a deep hole or spend the rest of your life in prison

It was likely a DSC gun so it would not have had US PROPERTY on the top strap. And, yes, I'm one of those who will point out it is considered "illegal contraband" by the ATF.

same numbers as on the other parts. have them laser engraved for cheap but if you're not selling it, I wouldn't worry about it. if someone was trying to do something illegal don't you think he would have taken the numbers from the other areas? don't worry about it, they dont put people in jail for that!

Just don’t get into any situation where you could be caught with it in your possession. And don’t advertise that you have it. No FFL dealer will touch it because it is indeed a contraband weapon. And indeed the Feds could charge you with a felony.

I have a metal stamp set of roughly the same size/ font....I could do that.
