I picked up a Raven MP-25 Sunday at the gun show I was
working at this past weekend.
A friend of mine collects them and has about a dozen of them.
I never really had a need or want for a .25 auto, but it was in
the original box, with the papers, and in at least 95% condition.
The box says it is chrome with ivory grips, but I am sure that
they are faux ivory. The guy selling it let it go for $40.00, so I
bought it more as a curiosity.
Heck, I have spent more money on stupider things.
Well.......maybe not.
Does anybody have any experience with one of these?

You know, I was gonna razz you and your Raven collecting *chortle* buddy, but I won't.
The few I've had actually fed and functioned well.
You coulda done worse with your money. :)

I had several back in the day.
I thought they functioned quite well, and it was about the only small back-up gun I had when I carried a Mod 39-2 as a primary CCW.

I always have to shake my head when someone says, "if I was ever shot with a 25 & found out about it - I'd be p***ed."
I lost a friend in the early 80's, the sheriff of our county, who was killed coming out of church by a man armed with a Raven 25.

I've owned a couple - both worked great. They are kind of big and clunky for a .25 ACP, but mine always went bang and never jammed. I have no idea what happened to them.

My Raven 25 ACP(Noisy Cricket)

Had a Davis 32 ACP and I have a Raven 25 with wood grips 20 rds thru it.
My Dad bought it for my Mom who never could work the slide. Got 2 mags for it. It is fondly known as the "Noisy Cricket" (Men in Black) After reading some articles I would not stand in front of it.If you can smell the bad guys bad breath you were in range for the 25 ACP

Had a couple in the past, they always went bang. A real close up gun ment to dump every round in the target as close as possible. Wouldn't want a clip full in the belly!

By all the testimonies on here. I must of had the only lemon raven 25 acp. Mine shot every other round, if I was lucky. Lol.

Ravens have always had a reputation for being cheap and reliable.
Not long ago I came across one locally. The owner said it wouldn't chamber a round without jamming and sold it to me for $25. I took it home, checked it out and turned the firing pin around the way it should be. After that it worked like a champ. Not the most accurate gun in the world, but it never missed a beat.
I showed it to a friend of mine who decided that he just had to have it. So I sold it to him for what I had in it. As of last report, its still doing just fine. ;)

I have often hoped to find a great deal on a Raven but nobody has yet to offer me enough money to take theirs off their hands.

Came across one in an estate I was executing. Got $125.00 at auction for it. Was NIB with shipping carton, etc. I would say you did well for the $40. you spent.
