RCBS Customer service

People like to go online and talk about their negative customer service experiences. After reading this stuff for a while, we start thinking that all customer service is horrible. I thought that with all the negativity, I would share my positive experience. In 1987, I bought an RCBS primer pocket swager. It always gave great service. A while back, I forgot to make sure that the stem was tight when I was swaging some military 30-06 cases. I bent the stem beyond my ability to repair it. I couldn't find a source for a new one so I went on the RCBS web site and sent them a message to ask if there was a place where I could purchase a new one. They replied that they would send me a new one, no charge. It arrived along with a new small primer stem. Now my 35 year old swager is back in service. I know it's a little thing and it cost them pennies to send them to me but I think that it's great that a company can take care of a 35 year old product.
A while back I bent the stem of my RCBS universal de-priming die. I searched and searched for a replacement, but never found one, and gave up. Then yesterday, I read your post above and thought I'd contact them myself, so I emailed asking for a part number. This morning they responded that a new stem was on the way to my door. Customer service is certainly alive and well at RCBS.

I've had great service from RCBS over the last 50 years. Their products are well designed and made for the most part, so I haven't needed a lot. One thing I bought from them back in the 70's was their hand priming tool. This was the model before the current one with the primer flipper/magazine. The old tool's handle would break on me every year or so, and I would sent it back and they would send me a new one. This happened several times. The handle was obviously badly designed but I liked the tool for its good feel. Then one day out of the blue I received a package from RCBS. The new style priming tool was in it. They evidently had kept a list of people who had trouble with the old tool and sent out the new one unasked. That was nearly 40 years ago and that priming tool is still going strong. I have a bunch of their bullet molds. Many years ago they upgraded the sprue plates on their molds, making them thicker. I made a phone call and they me a bunch of them. It is a great company.
