I have a S&W revolver that's in pretty decent shape but shows considerable holster wear, so I'm considering sending it in for rebluing. Do any of you have any experience with this refinishing company?

I'm open to recommendations on other good refinishers, too.

Thanks!

Send it to the factory and let them do the job. At the same time they can check out the gun and correct any potential problem areas. By using the factory, you can be assured of a quality job and not have to hope that it is done properly.

Took me awhile, but I found it on the S&W website. I'm sure they do a very good job, but this is just a run-of-the-mill k frame revolver that I have and $190 is a lot more than I intended to spend on refinishing.

Thanks for the info, though. I may use them for another revolver at some future point.

Mahovsky was one of the first to offer hard chrome plating for guns.

However, they only fire up the bluing operation once a month or so, and frankly, from the looks of their bluing work, they just don't do it often enough to maintain the polishing skills needed to do a top quality job.
98% of a good blue job is the polishing, and if you don't do it almost every day, you can't maintain good polishing skills.

Then too, their turn-around times are SLOOOOW, and forget their estimated times.
Bottom line, if you're willing to just wait until they get to it, and don't care if its not a really good job, they ARE one of the cheaper places around for blue work.
