Receiver Extension Mil Spec?

Is the receiver extension on the M&P Sport II mil spec? I'm looking to add a single point sling adapter and perhaps upgrade the stock on my Sport II. I notice some of the manufacturers of such equipment indicate there are some buffer tubes (receiver extensions) that are not mil spec.

1. Does anybody know what the M&P has; mil spec or not?

2. What is the difference between mil spec and non-mil spec buffer tube?

The Sport II has a mil spec receiver extension.
