Is anyone using a slip on recoil pad on their Sport ? Which one are you using ?
Being from NY my Sport has a fixed stock. I would like to make it about an inch longer by using a slip on recoil pad which will also help my injured shoulder.

Maybe look into an A2 traditional stock for the rifle; they are a bit longer.
I can't imagine an AR having enough recoil to hurt a person while shooting, even with an injury. They are very mild mannered rifles.
But, for the guns that fight back a lot, I do really like Pachmeyer decelerator butt pads. They would help if you can find one that will fit the butt on the ar.

I put a ProMag slip-on recoil pad on my ArmaLite, which has the adjustable butt stock. It cost all of $8 and I did it to gain an extra 1/2" of pull.

I put a UTG slip-on on my stock S&W buttstock its almost an inch. Increased the LOP nicely for me. Had a problem with it occasionally coming off depending on who was shooting it and how they held it, so I used some RTV adhesive to adhere it in place and havent had a problem since.

I also purchased the UTG slip on recoil pad based on the suggestion of oneyeopn in a different thread. I bought it off amazon.com installed it without using any adhesive and has worked great

me too

i just got a UAG, slip on butt pad from amazon, ~$9.95.
in dry fire keeps my eye relief so i can see through the whole ocular without squinting or pulling back.
this butt pad's shoulder friction keeps my cheek weld in one place on a piece of 1" pipe insulation lightly tacked with contact cement to the buffer tube. will see if the utg pad improves shooting groups tuesday at range.

If you go down to page 3 of these threads you will find another question titled "Need Butstock Pad". You will find a couple other suggestions there. I am in the process of doing the same thing. Keep us posted on what works for you.

the UAG and the UTG are basically the same so it will be a good choice whichever way you go.....I think that a lot of UAG stuff has been called UTG stuff on some of the sales sites anyway. I am sure you will like it and it will serve you well.

its exactly the same the difference between the manufacturers is one has US on the back and the other is ribbed.
