Hey everybody,

Making a decision on the Walter PS22, for $59.00 including mount on midwayusa.com or a PA red dot, either the M3, M3 multi, M4 or micro. What do you suggest?

Thanks.

I have the PA Miro Dot Gen3. Works well. I chose it because of it's small profile and looks, and that it will hold up to recreational use on a .223. I have BSA amd Tasco red dots. All have worked well over a period of years. Frankly, I think any red dot you chose will work just fine on your 15-22. Dot size is perhaps the most discussed issue.

Im about to order the M3. I have only read good things, in hours worth of research.

well i got the PS22 and it is blurry as can be. Going back and getting either the M4 or Multi M3.. any suggestions on which? Should i absolute co witness or 1/3??

I got the M3 and the 5x magnifier with Cantilever and QD mount, great, and the service from PA it is second to none.

Of course I am not afiliated ..yada yada y....

I'd do 1/3 if you're not using flip sights, it will clear the rear sight much more easily. I think the M3 Multi and M4 are pretty much the same, the mounts for the M3 will have a smaller rail footprint, and the canted mount will allow you to get it as far forward as possible still keeping it on the receiver.

The M4 looks a bit more solid though.

I have this exact setup on my AR-15 223 and it is great.
The 4moa dot isn't a problem I have found, you can turn the intensity down and see through the dot to your target.

Zero it this way and you will love it.

Thanks for the tip

I have a Micro Dot Gen3 with KillFlash.

Pros - 4MOA sharp dot edges. Small scope profile. Solid adjust and holds zero. Killflash works as sunshade. Can withstand recreational .223.

Cons - The light emitter stands tall at the bottom of the scope partially blocking the front sight post with 1/3 co-witness (though sights are still usable and most folks don't seem to notice much or care). If I had to do it over again I would instead order a LaRue HK mount which is just slightly lower than the PA. This combination delivers absolute co-witness. // The PA riser is advertised as "Quick Disconnect". Yeah well.... You can grind off part of the lever to make it work as some have done but this so-called QD isn't really up to the task IMO. Purchasing the LaRue HK mount or the new Aimpoint Micro QD Mount LT751 requires no grinding;) . That said, I just loosen the nut on the mount to take on and off... no big deal.
