I'm looking for a low profile sight that does not allow the glowing reticle to be seen from the muzzle end.
I like my red dot but geez, a potential assailant could spot your position from 400 yards.
Forgive my ignorance, but does such a thing exist?

I've not noticed any significant light spill from the business end of my dot sights... I use one on my turkey gun and the turkeys don't seem to notice it either. :)

What brand(s) are you looking at?

I looked at the Trijicons on their website.

I have a Bushnell Trophy red dot on my Ruger MKII. When I layed it on the bench and walked out to the 50 yard line I could see a bright red glow from the sight in bright sunlight. That's OK on a .22 plinker but not so great on a defensive gun.

I just put a Burris Fastfire II on one my 629's. It's excellent and also the smallest I have seen.

I looked at my EO Tech and my Docter which are close at hand, they show nothing from the front. I am inside, if outside in the sun, I suspect you would see reflection as you would a scope but no red dot.
