Yesterday my son and I headed to the indoor range we joined about a monh ago. I thought it was time to dig out a few oldie's. I took with us my Reg Mag,a 3rd Model Hand Ejector a Pre 37, a Md 17 and a few Ruger 10-22's . I let William be the first to shoot the 2 old Smiths as I had never shot them since I owned them. We spent almost 4 hours there shooting and chatting with other member. Since joining a month ago I have shot more than the last two years conbined. Now I need to find a Dillon 550.

Looks like a fun time. Glad you spent some time with our son. He will treasure those days forever.

How is it that on the snub .38, the hammer looks to still be back or falling, but the gun has already fired?!  And the trigger on the 3rd Model has already gone forward.

Good pic of the flash at the bbl.- cylinder gap, BTW.

Your son seems well trained. It's amazing how well they can learn at such an age. My son was about nine when he was coached by JoAnne Hall, who was a world champion Ladies class IPSC competitor. AND a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. :) I taught him, too, but I think he paid more attention to JoAnne. :D He was shooting a Colt .45 auto at a young age.

He told me recently that the basic instruction that he got while so young saved his life several times when he had to employ a 9mm in Iraq.

Very nice.

But, I'd suggest better hearing protection for your son. Indoor ranges and using only soft plugs to protect those young ears is going to cause him hearing problems later in life.

Please "double-up" on the hearing protection.

Ear plugs with "Mickey Mouse's" on top.

Great photos and great memories for you and your son.

Thanks for the two swift kicks in the pants on the hearing protection. I orded two sets of muffs for my son and myself today. I found out it is much different shooting indoors than outside.

I really like your big jar of ammo. I do similar things when I load up a lot of one load.

Not meant to be a kick-in-the-pants but a "plea".

Please "double-up" outside as well.

I fired my first box of .357 Magnum ammo outdoors with no hearing protection. It gave me a lifelong hearing loss in the right ear (I am right handed). So much so that it almost kept me from becoming an Air Traffic Controller and every year on my hearing test worried me as to becoming a disqualification.

Protecting the hearing is a must in my thoughts.
