Can one even buy a full sized single cab truck anymore?
I always thought that made for a better, cleaner look.

Yes you can but around here the dealers have nothing but 4 doors.

You got to look hard in my area as most dealers do not stock them or only have one on the lot. The ones I see are mostly in the"work truck" category. (AKA strippers)

If the manufacture still makes a 2 door they will order one for you, but some manufactures are not building them any more.

Kind of the same deal on stick shift vechicles, both cars and trucks. Many companies are not making them any more.

Heck my son drives double bottoms (tandems) and even those trucks have a auto trans.

They are still around, but you will need to look for them. Like as been said, most standard cabs will be the “work truck” trim level. You can order one or spend a lot of time looking. The last one that I had, was a 2004 1/2 ton Silverado LS trim, 8’ bed that I bought new in May of 2005. Since then I have owned three crew cabs, once you go 4 door, there is no going back to two.

I love the look as well and have had some great single cab pick ups over the years. After having extended cabs and 4 door trucks I would never go back. Find a dealer that specializes in fleet sales and they should have some new white ones.

Love my F150 regular cab, short bed.

She's a lightweight hotrod with the Coyote 5.0 V8.

Ford sells only one regular cab for every four of their super-crews. But, the regular cabs are indeed still here.

This is my third F series RCSB (regular cab, short bed) since 1972. They are tough and they last.

My 1997 (first year of the new body style) F-150 4wd 5 speed manual transmission out on the Colorado prairie east of Fort Collins. I'm pretty sure it has as many dirt road miles as paved roads.

2003 Ram, regular cab, short bed. Unfortunately, they do not offer it for 2019 I'm told but have not confirmed. RCSB have the lowest demand, but sell the fastest because there's only a handful of us that want them. I feel the same way you do about the appearance.

Allways loved the Ford styling not to mention the dependability, was actually looking for a "Lightening" when I came across my Ram and couldn't pass it up. Great looking F-150!

They are available but it's RARE that Dealers stock them. Most people driving Pick-ups today don't really use them as work trucks - but as every day drivers. The new huge crew cabs are comfortable, ride nice and have every single amenity one could think of. Some are more luxurious than Sedans! The working guy who wants a plain Jane pickup for work without the Crew Cab - has to look HARD and often settle for what he can find!

The new Crew Cabs in Pick-ups makes them a lot more versatile! Not only are the hard working trucks (for those who actually do use them for work) but they are great for vacations, family's, sports, and recreation purposes as well. In the near future I'd not be surprised to see the Plain Jane models be discontinued - as demand is dwindling.

Depending on your insurance company that could make them more expensive to insure. Your liability insurance in some cases depends on the amount of seats your vehicle has.

I had a 2 door Pick up truck with bucket seats, that was cheaper to insure than a comparable one with a bench seat as that one could do 3 people.

When I was driving 2 door pick ups (2 seats or in some cases 3)) my wife's Blazer cost much more to insure as it could haul 5. Funny my pick ups cost more and also had the big engine in it!

I traded mine this spring, needed the room. I liked the turning radius but found it had much more of a tendency to go sideways on slick roads. I find an extended cab is the easiest compromise with turning but you give up some with back seat comfort.
A local funeral director keeps one as some of our local cemeteries have tight access and are inconvenient to get to. He has some difficulty finding a standard cab, long box 4x4.

I guess some people like taking their last ride in a pickup rather then in a Cady station wagon.[emoji1]

...I've seen a few standard cab short beds wandering around our area lately...

...do a double take every time I see one...

...pretty rare...but very cool...

...kinda takes you back to the days of the old short step sides that were popular once...
