Rereading things it is a lot easier to get uniform results with a 6 cavity mold if you close it with a 2x4 as a level base. By that I mean set the mold halves on a 2x4 and close it gently. For some reason that helps in making sure it is done the same every time and that results in bullets of a more uniform diameter. Checking for small lead drops on the mold face is a given but i cut rejects down with a Lee 6 cavity by following that simple trick.

Finally received the Lee 6 cavity, 175 gr, 40 cal mold. Got to try it out briefly yesterday. I found out one thing, bad bullets fall like rain, just like the good ones do. 
Did manage to cast a few good ones. Gonna try again tomorrow.

OleJoeClark, once the culls clear up, think you are going to really like the lee 6 cavity. Keep the mold temp down and the alloy temp around 650 or so, the bullets that I am pouring now are some of the best I've cast. Couldn't have done it if it hadn't been for a lot of you guys here on the forum! Still haven't got the bullets I'm casting down to the mold weight (175 gr) but they are getting closer, I am getting more consistent with bullets in the 180's but that is due more to my alloy than anything else!

I haven't got to cast any more since Saturday. I did get to do a small test shoot yesterday. They shot really good and with no failure to fires or anything. At first I though they were key holing, then I realized that the cardboard was shot away behind the paper plate and the plate was tearing. I moved a target to an area with backing and no tearing of the target.
