Remembering Sacrifice During Irene

I remember seeing the changing of the guards back in the early 70's. It was a humbling experience. It has remained continuously guarded since 1948.

Best Huricane Irene picture I've seen

Apologies for posting a copyrighted photo. I really did not mean to be careless. Thanks for removing the photo to protect the site. Here is the link:

Sir/27145, first i must commend you on your poise and grace in accepting a moderator's edit of your original post. There are some firearm (as well as other types) forums where the op gets their skirt in a knot over a correction! Not you....:D

Secondly, thanks for the good intent of your post to remind us all of our dedicated military personel who perform their duty stateside with such outstanding respect and commitment.

That is not so much a case of sacrifice as it is devotion to duty.
Our town had a real case of sacrfice-a member of the rescue Squad died of injuries sustained while attempting a water rescue.

I actually meant, "Remembering sacrifice during Irene" as the sacrifice of the soldiers buried at Arlington. The photo showed the Old Guard honoring them during the storm. I don't feel you have to die to sacrifice. I personally saw plenty of sacrifice by volunteers at the WTC. They haven't died.....yet.

Fanocool I made a really big mistake by posting the copyrighted photo. In my zeal to depict this selfless act by the Old Guard, I just posted the photo, with a subject line, to keep it simple and maximize it's impact.
