Remington 1100

Yes, parts do break, but honestly short of running it over with your truck there's darn little that can go wrong or break that's not pretty easily fixed

I lucked out with the O rings for my 16ga 1100. A late member of the shotgunworld.com forum sent me several Vitons free of charge a few years before he passed away. RIP, EV Butler.

Thought I’d open this up to add a picture.

Here are my Remingtons

700 in .243
1100 in 12g
1100 in 20g “heavy” 2 barrels
1100 “special” 12g.

I my very first shotgun was a Remington 1100. I bought it before the days of removable chokes. My gun came with an Improved Cylinder barrel. Fairly soon after buying it, I got a deal on a Modified Barrel. I LOVE that gun, and have shot a ton of doves, some ducks , quail, and pheasant with it. Now I have a Remington 11-87, an over and under, a side by side, a single shot, and four Browning A5’s. The last shotgun I would ever get rid of is my original 1100!

I bought my 12 gauge, 28”, mod choke in 1980 for either $188 or $288 brand new. I used it exclusively for about 10 years until I bought my A-5.
Never had to do anything to it but clean it.
Have acquired two 20 gauges since then.

I have learned the deep appreciation for my Remington firearms. My first 742.
They shoot where I point or miss.
They are gorgeous. The blue and gorgeous wood
Might be because they point like my first Air rifle, although the wood and blue steel is replaced or just pleasing to a preteen or something, but I just love the way they fit me.
They are my confidence behind the trigger and sight. .
I guess it’s just what I know.
