hey guys. A friend of mine owns a 522 and at first the bolt wouldnt pull back. I took it apart and found a spring all jacked up so i turned it around so the kink would be on the on the guide rod. Fixed that issue. Now i have ran into a problem...now it will not dry fire even with the magazine in the weapon. I took it back apart and started to look. To me it looks like when the trigger is pulled, a metal rod moves toward the end of the barrel and it is supposed to trip another rod thus releasing the firing pin, but that is not happening. Does anyone have any advice??

If my memory is right, these guns have a magazine safety. It is possible to put one back together with the part that rides off the mag out of position. The gun will not fire at that point, it has to be dissasembled and the part pushed into the correct position and held while you put the gun back together.

I'm sorry I can't be any more specific as my 22 service manuals are packed up right now but I have had the exact same problem with that model before. Running off my memory, that is what I had to do to fix it, being sure to keep the rod in the correct alignment during re-assembly. Good luck with it.
