My father who passed away about 12 years ago gave me his Remington 552 BDL 22LR rifle about two years before he passed. I have shot it on many occasion and it is very accurate and a really good looking rifle even with it Tasco fixed 4 power scope. I was wondering if others up here have one as I really like mine. Of course mine holds a lot of feelings for me because it was my fathers and I knew he loved it.

I have a nice collection of classic .22 rifles and yours is one I'm missing. That's a fine looking rifle with the finest of associations.

While not a Remington 552 I have My Late Fathers Remington Model 550-1 that Dad purchased new in 1950 it's still in mint condition & was the 1st real gun I ever fired.

I have another reason to be very fond of that rifle and that was it was made in 1962 and in 1967 when I was 23 I lived in an apartment in Detroit and a riot broke out. My Dad called me loaned me this rifle and a brick of ammo and I kept it loaded and close for the 3 days until it ended. I was drafted and sent to Vietnam 1969 as a combat soldier in the 4th Infantry Division and when I came home I armed my self with much more potent self defense weapons. I still remember to this day how happy I was with The Remington 552 bye me for those 3 bad days.

I grew up shooting my fathers ADL and, soon after I moved out, bought the first BDL I ever saw. It's still killing everything it's pointed at, in the hands of another generation.
