I bought a bucket of Remington Golden Bullets a few months ago. I took the 15/22 out to the range today and found that they work pretty good. Shot about 200 rds and the only thing I noticed was the GB's didn't have enough power to lock the bolt back. I tried loading a Federal bulk pack .22 first in my mag, then GB's and everything worked great. Considering the cost I still think they were a good deal.

Change your first round.

I would just load a better round first and then the Remington's on top.

I use GBs all the time and do not have an issue with the bolt locking back. I have run 700 rounds through the 15-22 without a single issue until a mag split on me. I would say that you may have some crud in the bolt catch or on the rails the bolt rides on.

I don't know. I noticed it on the very first mag. I'm not disappointed in the ammo. In fact for the price I'm ok with it. If all I have to do is load a federal or some other ammo first, then the GB's I'm ok with it.
