Remora no-clip IWB holster – value!

Is there a reason why you would hold it upside down? Is there a reason why it should hold the gun as such?

Be safe.

... after a few weeks found it to be just too loose, couldn't hold upside down without gun falling out. ...

I also ordered a 2a for my BG380 and after a few weeks found it to be just too loose, couldn't hold upside down without gun falling out. So I called Alan and told him of my feelings. He didn't question me, but said he would modify another one and send it out. Got it last week and after a few days it is now perfect. Great product, great service and great response. I will now order one for my 40c.

I'm surprised to hear that folks are ordering the Series #2A for the S&W BG380. I asked Alan about it before I ordered, and he told me to order the Series #2. It fits like a glove, and that fit hasn't changed in the six or so months that I've been using it on nearly a daily basis. Did the Remora website recommend the 2A for the BG380?

Yes, I did talk to Alan before the first order and he said because of the laser I would need the 2a instead of the 2. I think he said the 2 was more for the LCP and the Keltec. Their website also specifies the 2a for the BG 380. By the way, I only used the upside down description to show the looseness. I don't make a habit of shooting upside down.

And to the point of my post, Alan and the holster are great to work with.

Alan is responsive, knowledgeable and willing to help. That's a rarity in business.

Remora is inexpensive, ugly and works just as well as advertised, or better. That, too, is becoming a rarity in business.

Don't get me wrong... I have plenty of EPS leather to impress anyone, but, I'll say this: When I drive down to Dallas, via Kansas City, from Detroit the weekend of April 9th (takes about 20 hours), the EPS holsters will be in a bag, along with 8 guns. The Remora holster with be carrying the Commander, crossdraw, and the double mag holder will carry a spare mag and a custom folding knife... all very comfortably and securely.

Fellow Michigander,

Just out of curiosity, what does the initialism "EPS" represent?

Yes, that is correct. I like EPS products more than anyone elses and have used them for years. I just received, yesterday, a new "Tanker" shoulder holster for a very pretty S&W 1917. Great work and very nice leather... it will outlast me, I'm afraid.

I have had my Remora 2A RFT (reinforced Top) for two weeks now and wanted to share my positive experience. From day one this has quickly become my holster of choice over my other Soft tuck DeSantis IWB holster.

I am still out on the road, but want to say I have had no problems carrying it in various positions from seated cross draw to 5 -6 o'clock or small of the back with no problem of slippage. That being said, I have not stood on my head to do the upside down fall out of the holster check, however it does feel more secure then my soft tuck as far as friction retention goes. Choosing the RFT model made one hand re-holstering easy.

In the past I carried Colt Defender (for PI work), but as times change I find myself carrying the S&W 380 BG more, but not so much as to replace my old companion Colt .45 which is still kept close at hand.

Based on what I heard in this thread, I ordered a 11RT to fit my P220 along with a pair of single magazine holders. I got the holster earlier this week.

First off, this is the neatest contraption I've seen in a while. I can wear it in a pair of shorts with a drawstring for a waistband all day long and the gun does not shift. This includes walking a lot, working in the garden, driving etc. It hides under a T shirt, too. I agree, it ain't El Paso Saddlery but it works like nothing I've seen before. I wish they'd been out 25 years ago!

The customer service is as good as the product. I got the holster but not the magazine holders. I called the # on their website and talked to Alan. He talked to someone while we were on the phone and told me the holders along with another holster were on the way. I told him I'd send the 2nd holster back, but he insisted I keep it at no charge. Today I got the holders and another 11 RT.

I think I'm going to have to get Remoras for a J frame and a 4" K frame. I like a company that turns out a good product and takes care of their customers.

Can somebody post a picture of a S&W snubby with the Remora Holster.. also for Ruger LCR if anyone has it
Thanks..

Ordered a holster for my SD9. Of course, I can't carry in public here in IL, but the price was right and it will be good to have! Thanks for the reviews.

After reading the great reviews on this site, I ordered a reinforced top version for my S&W 325 Night Guard. It's hard to find holsters for that one! I have a VMII on order, but that won't be here for another 2-3 months.

I saw a holster sized for the 325 on the Remora website. I ordered the holster on a Thursday and had it the following Tuesday. It is a very clunky looking holster. The reinforcement adds a band of metal that probably makes it clunkier than the non-reinforced ones on shown on this thread. I have been using it for about 3 weeks, and it works great. I finally tried it on a 3 mile walk and I had no movement whatsoever. I am not sure I would use it hiking in the mountains, and that experiment, if ever conducted, will have to wait. If I use it doing deskwork for hours, it will move slightly after repeatedly changing from standing to sitting, but so does just about any other holster. Concealability with a polo shirt is the same, if not better, than my SP101 in a VMII because of the absence of straps. Printing did not seem different than with the SP101, and the 325 is an N frame! Now, I do know this gun is on my hip even though it weighs the same as the Ruger. This could be partially the result of the reinforcement band that goes most of the way down the holster. Until I get my VMII, I won't know how much of it is a function of the gun and how much of it is a function of the holster. That evaluation will have to wait until July, because I am not canceling my VMII order just because I bought this holster.

The reinforcement is fine for taking the gun out for short periods, but (at least with an N frame) will collapse slightly if you wait more than a few minutes before reholstering, and you will have to use a slight bit of force to reinsert the gun when the cylinder hits the band. (Don't know about semi-autos.) It may be better for "carry a lot but use little" carriers.

Anyway, this a really great holster at an incredible price, and I appreciate all the input on this forum. I posted a favorable review on another forum I frequent, so we'll see what happens to delivery times.

Thanks again to all.

Alan at Remora makes a great product at a fair price and backs it up with stellar customer service. I purchased one recently based on reviews/comments in this forum, thought at worst I'd only be out the 20 bucks or so it cost and if I never used it I could add it to the collection of other holsters I have that are seldom or never used. Won't be the case with the Remora. Plan on ordering another soon. Its amazing to me how sticky the material is and how strongly it grips.

I'm thinking about ordering one with the reinforced top and a sweat shield.....would that make for too bulky a combination. Any one that has a Remora with the reinforced top and sweat shield care to comment ?

- regards

I use my remora holster for my 3913TSW. I really like it IWB, especially because it doesn't weigh my belt down like my clip holsters.

Reinforced w/sweatguard

I just received my reinforced top w/sweatguard for my M&P .40c from Remora. I haven't had time to completely break it in yet, but so far it is great! I also have a Remora for my Bodyguard .380 without the reinforced top and it is a little more difficult to reholster, but still no problem for everyday carry.

I noticed early on in the thread a question about whether or not the Remora is "tuckable." It is! First, tuck in your shirt without tightening your belt. Next, untuck a small area of the shirt where you normally place your holster. Insert the holster and tuck in that part of the shirt around it. The holster will not slip from the place where it touches your skin or undergarments and will stick to the part of your shirt it touches, keeping it in place. Be careful not to tuck too much shirt, too deeply around the holster, or it will stick too much to the shirt in your moment of need.

Someone on another forum told me about this last week and I thought, "Hey, why not try it?" And it worked! :D I used my Remora IWB with the reinforced top with my Chiappa Rhino and a tucked shirt, no problem.

That said, I just had a great afternoon here in FL talking with Alan from Remora, and heard that he has designed a specifically-designed-for-tuckable holster that he's beta-testing right now. Cool . . .

That
