removed my cylinder release and cant get it back on now

Hello, I removed the cylinder release latch to clean my pre 27. I now am unable to fit the latch back over the threaded stud. It seems to have moved towards the back and now the latch wont fit into its spot. I tried to push it forward but it wont budge. Any Info for a rookie.

AHH,got pissed took it apart and aparently figured it out.Thanks anyways.
