Pleased with and proud of my new M60 3-inch, but I think the top part of the grip behind the triggerguard is preventing the highest grip I could be taking. Can the plastic grip material be cut, sanded buffed, etc Are special tools required? Would it be a gunsmith job? Thanks to all.

Have you fired your new revolver yet? The shape of the grip is intended to prevent the trigger guard from rapping your fingers during recoil, and it works well.
If you prefer the shape of the classic wooden grip that allows you to place your hand higher, you might do better to purchase some and save your originals. Sanding the plastic is possible, but the resulting finish is not pretty.
Many people with the original grips spend quite a few bucks for a grip adapter to fill that open space. You could certainly be different, but I suspect you will be disappointed if you sand your original grips and then need to replace them because they don't work as well as you hoped.

I appreciate your taking the time. I have shot the gun at a few visits to my range and maybe its a matter of practice but I just dont like that bit of filler. Is triggerguard bite a real problem with these 24 oz guns? Can't be with the soft ,38 ball I've been using, must be a magum problem?

Hard to say. Everyone is different. So, give it a try, if you like. Sanding the grips while they are off the gun will work. If that makes them more comfortable, looks are certainly secondary. Best of luck, sir!
