Last year I got the 1.8 sedan. http://smith-wessonforum.com/lounge/457818-rental-car-review-chevrolet-sonic-sedan-lt.html
This year I got a 1.4 turbo hatchback. Here are the major differences.
1) 1.4 Turbo engine is a lot more fun than the 1.8 motor. It is smoother and the torque comes on quicker and harder.
2) The LTZ package includes heated leather seats and a backup camera.
3) Good news, handling and grip are improved by 17" wheels and bigger, low profile boots.
4) Bad news, the low profile tyres and bigger wheels trashed the ride. The LT sedan was a remarkably smooth ride. This car picked up the joints and pockmarks badly, especially when the tyres were cold. I thought they might be summer tyres, but they weren't.
5) Noise was also increased by the new tyres and wheels. They have a noticeable sing over concrete freeways.
6) Headlamps on this example were oddly lacking in spread on low beam. Don't recall that with the sedan. Maybe that's why I see many of these with the foglights permanently engaged. They were also set rather low, IMHO, unlike everyone else's light in Texas.

7) A previous renter had buggered the luggage cover so it was easily dislodged from its hinge. The result would be no view aft.
Guess GM need a turbo model without the ruined ride.
