Prayers go out for him. There meeting there band of brothers up in heaven one by one. I watch the world at war and the band of brothers dvds every winter along with my gun Smithing and fishing videos. Years ago as a kid channel nine showed the world at war constantly on tv for as long as I could remember. There's not too much said about the 1939 Russian Finnish war. When the little Finnish country held off the Russians. Seeing this the Germans thought Russia would be a push over but they forgot there long underwear.

Rest in Peace Babe, hoping you have a beer soon with your former C.O.

Darn it, I just saw him and a few other Easy Company troopers on a PBS Documentary.

To simply say "thank you" to Mr. Heffron and the tens of thousands of others from that generation who endured what he / they did for us would be a gross understatement. Its hard to see our heroes leave us one by one so we must always remember and honor their sacrifices and courage. May The Good Lord rest his soul and grant him a deserved seat of victory!

I had the pleasure a few years back after "Band Of Brothers" was made, to meet Mr. Heffron and his buddy William "Wild Bill" Guarnere at a dinner event near Philly. I can tell you that although they were both just "normal guys", the air was electrified by them being in the room. Although they acted very jokingly toward each other (like two old steelworker friends would) and everyone in attendance, one could feel that these two men were bonded in a way most others would never able to experience. To say that was an evening to remember wouldn't do it justice!

R.I.P. another of the "The Greatest Generation" gone, not many left. I wonder how they feel seeing this great country going downhill after all their sacrifices.

R.I.P. again Edward "Babe" Heffron your exploits and sacrifices are writhen into history. I read now there are only 20 Easy Company members remain living. I've read this on the internet so can't confirm.

I forget who here on this site said it? but, he said something like: "They're spirit lives within us" or something like that. I dont want to misinterpret anything but, to me, that sounds like the weight is on our shoulders now, to make sure the rot goes not much further.
