Do you try to keep the numbers of each caliber you own even?
Or do you own what ever, it doesn’t matter. What caliber do you own the most of?

For me it’s the 357 magnums. (8)
44 mag (3)
41mag (3)
45LC (1)

Is the 357 mag the most popular.

I ONLY HAVE 2 HANDS, BUT...

Not that I am trying or anything but 2 seems to be the # for me, one big, one small. 2- 22's, 2- 38's, 2- 357's. Currently only 1 32, 40, & 45. I think having a variety of calibers may come in handy if ammo becomes an issue.

By far, my favorite revolver caliber starts and ends with the number 4. 14 at last count, all Rugers, S&W's, Colts and USFA.

I reload, so my .44's serve any purpose from target to small game, to self defense, to big game, and do it well.

Well lets see:

22 RF-6
32 S&W and long-7
32-20 WCF-2

44 Russian-2
44 Mag-2
45 ACP-2
45 Long-5

I went to the LGS to buy my first centerfire pistol in 1974.
I was asking the counter guy what he recommended,,

He said:
"If you are gonna shoot much, you are gonna need to reload.
You are a big guy, the large pistol primers are easier to handle with big hands.
Buy a 44 Magnum,,,"

So,,,

Last year, I bought a Smith 681,, just for fun,, I may never reload that,,,
the primers are too small,,,,,,,,,
:D

I've got mostly .38spl/.357 J,K,N frames. Next is .22 lr's in J and K frames. A couple n Frame .44 mags and a couple .45 acp/Colt. That's about it. Joe

Being a military collector, I'm very concentrated into 4 calibers:
38 Special at 11,
38 S&W at 9,
38 LC at 7,
45 LC at 4.

After that there is a sprinkling of other calibers in 1's and 2's. If you add the semi autos then there is obviously a big bump in the 45 ACP.

Funny, my Father-in-law, who got me into reloading, started me with the .32 S&W. He said if I could master being consistent putting tiny amounts of powder in that tiny case and getting those tiny bullets perfectly seated, then I would be ok to load anything...

I'm not sure I wanted to know!

.22 LR -- 2 (Like Noah told the rabbits: "Only two.")

.32 S&W -- 1
.32 Long -- 4 (all I-frames)
.32 Mag -- 1

.357 Mag -- 4

.38 Spl -- 26 (Those danged Chiefs! Okay some K-frames, too.)

.38 S&W -- 1 (nope, it's not a BSR Victory or Terrier) (pre-11)

.9 mm -- 2 (yip, they're revolvers)

.460 Mag -- 1

.500 Mag -- 1
