My tax refund is soon to come back so of course I have my next gun all picked out. It is a RIA 9mm style 1911. Only problem is the only way to get that gun is with a TCM barrel. I do not want the extra barrel, I know nothing about TCM and I don.t want to pay the extra it costs. Midway USA where I get most of my ammo does not have any TCM ammo. I can get it from some places so my question is is the extra barrel worth the cost. Has anyone shot much of this stuff.

22TCM is a cartridge that provides similar ballistics to the FN 5.7 round but will fit in a 38 Super magazine/firearm
Personally, I like it. However I like most of the oddball cartridges

If your gun guy is telling you you HAVE to buy the 22TCM to get a 9mm RIA 1911 then run....run as fast as you can away from that guy. Google it, go to the RIA web page, go to Buds.... a bunch of places to buy a RIA 9mm 1911. I have one in 9mm and wish the 22TCM option was available when I bought mine. Watching videos and reading about that round, it appears to be a hoot to shoot.

Sure I can buy a 9mm RIA with a 5 inch barrel but I want the 4 inch barrel and I do not see one without the TCM barrel included. I also do not want a rail on it. Tomorrow I will check RIA website again and see I missed one

I know virtually nothing about the .22 TCM beyond knowing what it is. Does the RIA barrel fit and function OK in other 1911 clones with a 9mm slide?
Them bucks are hard to come by so they just have to go to what I really want and nothing else. Of course in a week or two I may find something I just have to have.Well, if you're just going to be picky about what you want...
Grover You need to spend a bit more time on Armscor's RIA section as there are a few 9mm only models to pick thru in the TAC , rock and GI series .
The TCM is a bad arse little round scooting along at 2000fps from a 5" down to 1850fps from a 4" and is a better round than the 5.7x28 .

I was right I went to RIA website and asked them if the have what I want and they do not. They did at one time but no longer. Now I will have get one with the TCM barrel or they do have a 9mm with a 3 inch barrel. Anyone have one of those 3 inch 9mm RIA. I just don't want the 5 inch.

short answer: no
The magazines that RIA uses are 38 super mags. Standard 9mm magazines will not fit the 22 TCM cartridge.

But .38 Super mags will fit fine in any 1911 frame, just like 9x19 mags. My question concerns only the fit of the barrel in the frame and slide.
