Rifle Powder Question

I have been reloading my 6.5 Creedmoor with H4350 and 140 grain bullets, and getting excellent accuracy. I am about out of H4350, and have not been able to find any locally.

My local shop did have Winchester "Precision Rifle SatBALL 6.5 Ball Powder". Says "Ideal for 6.5 Creedmoor, .270 Win, 7mm-08, and many others" on the label.

Anyone use this powder, and what are your opinions of it?

Probably a little late now to ask, since I figured get it while the getting is good, and bought all 6 bottles he had at $24.35 a pound.

Side note - I was there about a half hour, chewin the fat, and he had at least 5 or 6 calls, all people looking for primers. Has none, not even in his back room stash.

Buddy of mine switched over to it, say`s he`ll never use anything else now in his 6.5CM.
As for his data, i didnt ask, other than he smiles after every pull of the trigger.
He shoots 1,000yds, he`s hitting the plates, yeah i think it works.

I am looking forward to OP feedback on this powder after load development. Are you shooting a gas rifle or bolt rifle?

Thanks for the replies. I'm shooting a Bergara chassis bolt gun with a 26 inch barrel.

I did a little internet exploring last night, and the word seems to be that it meters well (expected with a ball powder), is on the dirty side, but does reduce copper fouling, and is at its best with loads that hit 90% or better case capacity. Seems it works particularly well with heavier bullets in the 6.5CM, and is very temp. insensitive - rare for a ball powder.

If I can find a load that approximates what H4350 does out of my rifle R/E accuracy, I will be happy. I have a lot of powders that will work in the 6.5CM, but it seems that each of the rifles / calibers I usually load for each have a different powder preference for best accuracy.

H380 in my 22/250
H4895 in my .308's
ect..

(Apr 2020 No.325 p.22) has a Propellant Profile on
Winchester StaBALL 6.5

Temperature variation of very cold and very hot 6.5 Creedmoor
Cartridges were tested. With 120 degrees difference, frozen
2654fps/hot 2658fps had a 4fps difference.

Article said, Velocity wise, and Accuracy in a .30-06 24"bbl
was outstanding, with 150gr SGK (different bullet then
published data).

I see one of our LGS has Win StaBALL6.5 but everything else
was sold out. It must not have the popularity the other
powders have.

Appears to do what it was designed for. I might have to get
some and try it, in my 270 Winchester Short Magnum.

Just get it ... try it out and tell us all about it .
Any powder developed with one particular cartridge in mind should be excellent for that cartridge ... the company's reputation is sort of resting on good performance . It should be just fine ...

Handloader Magazine recently tested it and gave it a two thumbs up review ... accuracy and velocity were all there .
