I wore the Blackhawk rigger belts as an inner belt under my nylon duty rig for >10 years. They worked well and make a good gun belt by themselves. I'm retired now, and still use them as a gun belt regularly.

Well now we know what Jimmy wants for Christmas!
The stiff double layered nylon belts usually have a plastic stiffener sewn in between the layers. They relax a little over time, but no where near as much as a thick, all leather belt.
A good quality “rigger” belt is a good piece of kit for distributing the weight of carried gear. Having been a parachute rigger working with webbing and buckles I can tell you the modern belts have nothing to do with the “rigger” title any more.
I avoid large buckles and extra rings. They make the belt less concealable and take up space I don’t want to lose, even with the buckle pushed to my left. I will never use a buckle as an attachment point for a harness or anything else, so that “feature” is useless for 99% of the folks who buy it. 1.5” is standard. Mine are Wilderness Tactical and 5.11. I put a piece of loop Velcro on my holster under where the belt closes over it.
I bought one recently that was lighter, thinner and more flexible. No stiffener. I thought I might like it for a lighter load out. I don’t.

I was a Rigger for 31 years. We never wore a tool belt. Only the Rod Buster's wore belts like that. We carried all our tools to the job on a truck.

It’s only been Three weeks but I like my new steel core Bigfoot Gunbelt. It’s thick and sturdy. It seems that with all the gear I carry I don’t have to wear the belt as tights as my thin leather work type belt. It also seems to carry my guns tighter to my body. I don’t have as many back aches as before.

I use the heavy duty one from Cabela's for competition, works great, about 7y now, every weekend. For $25, best buy for sure. I sometimes ccw with it, but I prefer a heavy leather & kydex reinf belt.

+2 on the 5 stitch model....... note their "Frequent Flyer Belt"..... with double "plastic" rings vs. metal ..... mine are 1 1/2" also have a 1 3/4" 511 belt at the cabin.

BTW, I have a Flyer belt, but in todays imaging scanners, it still gets you felt up by TSA, plastic or metal.

if they spot the rigger belt being worn a better then average sign you would be conceal carrying ..
Would that give a perp an advantage ?? Possibly !!
That's why I wear a belt that looks just like a dress belt but is a gun carry belt .. Several leather holster shops make them .. I have had this one for 3 years and still in prime condition ..

The Wilderness 5 stitch belt doesn't have any stiffeners added. Doesn't need them. The ones with plastic/metal inserts won't adapt to your body and will chafe. Love mine and they last.
I'd expect the folks who are dressed in all the kewl tactical gear will get more attention than someone with just a belt.

Ya, IMO...... the FF Belt looks like the hippie two ring belts from the late 60s
