Your asking about two different things if I recall correctly. 1 Citadel 1911 compact is a .45 acp no problem 2. you listed it unmder Rimfire/Dry Fire read your manual it's usualy listed some mfg's don't recomend it for their reasons some say it's ok last round on semi if bolt doesn't lock back you will eventualy dry fire. Page 11 of Citadel manual for their CIR-22-M1 which is their M1 Carbine states "DRY FIRING will damage your firing pin and make your firearm inoperable NEVER DRY FIRE YOUR FIREARM" I would assume it would be the same for all their .22 rim fires.

Sorry I stand corrected Citadel does make a .22 it's listed as Citadel M-1911 but I can not find a manual..

At worst,(if it is a rimfire) you'll damage the firing pin and raise a burr on the edge of the chamber. Both are easy fixes 😁

It's a .45 ACP. Just new to 1911's.

Centerfire in my experence I have had no problem dry firing a centerfire firearm. If it worries you use a snap cap, or contact Citadel and ask their opion that's the one that counts as they would repair it under warrenty. just my .02 and every one has them.

I was told awhile back that with S&W revolvers you can dry fire them as the firing pin stops before it impacts the cylinder. But I don't try it, I'l;l dry fire a center-fire revolver.
