Thinking of scoping my 357mag for hunting and wondering if there are moderately priced scope rings that would stand up to that kind of recoil? I would put a picatinny/weaver rail on a 686 so need weaver type rings.

I have always used , and been more than satisfied with good old fashioned Weaver QD , Quick Detachable , rings & bases .
Never had a scope or screws come loose .
They aren't sexy looking but the get the job done and don't break the bank pricewise .
Note ... they are now called Detachable Top Mount ... so look for that name ... I see them on-line for $26.92 ... affordable and worth every penny !

Have used a short gun for many years, lots of different calibers including
many rifle calibers in single shot handguns. The Weaver Classic aluminum quad lock rings are my go to when setting up a new handgun. Found most often at Wallyworld for me, they work well at holding the scope in place and have never let me down. They should hold a scope well for a 357 mag.
