Though not as long and maybe not as interesting as some of the roadie reports herein of late, this was a fun trip.

Departed my home Wednesday, June 19, and drove to Indianapolis. Had been there on multiple other occasions and had seen what appeared to be a nice ballpark right downtown next to my hotel. No games there on previous trips but there was this time.

Wow! What a terrific gameday experience. The Indy Indians are Pittsburgh Pirates AAA team. They do it right. Fan friendly, great seating options, and just a fun place to be.

The next day I drove to St. Louis to meet up with a group of friends who had flown there for our yearly baseball weekend. A day of bar hopping dive bars commenced.

Friday we had a tour of the Anheuser Busch “mothership” that was simply amazing. It was led by a company executive who I am certain treated us better than most guests. 😉 Had the best tasting beer ever…fresh out of a tap on a ginormous vessel.

Then it was suggested we stop by a nearby community for some local color. That was Soulard. What a cool neighborhood. The bars were chock full of folks having fun…midday on a FRIDAY afternoon. 🍻 Met some great people and was truly fun! Truth be told, I don’t recall what I had for dinner that night but no driving was involved. Uber rocks!

Saturday we arrived at the ballpark (waaaaay) early to experience Ballpark Village. Good call. Would have been content to stay there all day. But we went in to the highest seats I have ever occupied. Dang near got vertigo overlooking the field…and it was 98F.

Post-game repaired to Horseshoe Casino and donated more money to the local economy. 😂

Up early Sunday and drove to Columbus, OH, where I stayed in one of the nicest hotels ever experienced. The Hotel LeVegue is awesome. Great location, great staff, terrific bar/restaurant.

Monday morning drive home. Always good to be home, but happy I didn’t miss this trip.

My liver hurts just reading that! Glad you had a good, safe trip!
Curious: did anyone from our AAA team look like they can hit the darned baseball?? (We meaning my local Pirates.) We have a pretty good pitching crew, which usually shows up when the bats have holes in them!
Sounds like a good time.

Didn’t see any…

…but Skenes seems to be the real deal!
