I've noticed a few tiny pit marks and the finish on my Glock 19 slide is well worn (looks like a lot of holster wear). I've been thinking of using Robar to refinish the slide... I'd like to keep it black, so Roguard seems to be the best option. Is this finish as durable as the Tenifer Glock uses? I read their site, but would like others first hand experience with their different finishes.

Thanks, Brian

No first hand experience. Lotta research. Robar gets high marls across the board with all their finishes and customer service.

Glocks are Melonited and parkerized.

Last I heard Glock didn't use Teflon but their proprietary Tenifer finish, which is supposed to be extremely resistant to wear and corrosion.

Sorry, I got auto corrected... Thanks for catching that shouldazagged. [emoji4]

*fixed*

Here is a couple of pictures of the old model 41 with the Robar Np3 finish. This was my first custom revolver and some design mistakes were made but it is what got me started on my custom revolver journey.

Most people I know who have Robar done are happy....makes for much easier cleaning and very resistant to salt corrosion. One guy had his 1911 NP3ed and said the finish wears off the slide rails pretty fast.
