The show ran Saturday but the weather was too much Sunday so it was cancelled. No refunds. Your ticket will be good next year.

Huh??? I live here but a lot of people don't and spent their hard earned money to get here and stay for a nasty weekend. Trust me, The beach was no place to be.

To those that got robbed I apologize. I wouldn't blame you if you never came back.

And, Thanks for your support.

Had a similar situation down here at Alliance Airport some years back, great stink raised about the lack of refund. The airshow promoter solved that by making the show free, but parking is now $20 or so.

I haven't gone back.

Deathgrip,
First, Thank you for your service sir. Second, I myself have had some experience working that event and this is only my take on it as I don't have a dog in this hunt. They spend to promote, both the city and the sponsor of said event. I imagine that when such Acts of God come up they figure that, " hey, it aint our fault ", and leave many folks who spent their hard earned bucks out of luck. It's too bad actually and one would think they would TRY and appease folks just a little but they did not when I was there and I imagine that nothing has changed. The last year I worked whoever was the promoter tried to stiff the city on the overtime that they agreed to assist in paying. It's all about the bottom line, sadly.

I'm south of where the Airshow was and did not attend, simply because the weather was AWFUL. Have read several newspaper stories about folks being pretty steamed, I sympathize with them. Hope next year Mother Nature cooperates, the show is a great time.

Sunday was the day they tried to run the Rolex Submarine races at Homestead. I'm from England so wet driving is "familiar" to me, but that level of damp looked no fun in those high powered cars.

I didn't know anything about the races at Homestead but I've driven in Germany. In the rain, To fast. :D:D:D

This air show we had a lot of rain with major wind gust. It sucked to even be on the beach with an onshore wind. It made for really unsafe flying and I don't blame them for not wanting to fly, I sure wouldn't.

We went for a few years without the show which is a major boost to the economy. It sucks that this year we got bad weather but I still can't see why there's no refund. I think they should have been up front about it if there was no refund due to weather. Sometimes they do this in racing but most know about rain outs and accept it for what it is. Usually they get a race in pretty quickly after the weather subsides.

So I guess we need to take it into consideration that it is a motor sport and you can't always depend on the weather.

I wonder if those tourist who bought tickets would be gracious enough to send their tickets back to the promoter if they promised to use them for local children charities next year, ie letting children see the show? Then their trip won't be a total loss and they would get a small tax write-off.
