After reading all the great comments on the Mika pocket holster, I decided to try one.
I am very pleased with the quality, the price, the customer service, turn around time, product fitment, everything you members commented about this product is true.
It fits my S&W model 40-1 perfect, and makes carrying in the front pocket just right!!! (even in Levi jeans) Thanks for the help.:)

Whit.....

I've had my J frame Mika holster several years and appreciate it more with each use.

You'll probably like the Mika even more in a couple of years as you, the gun, and the holster become "form fitted" to one another.

In addition, Robert is a stand up kinda guy and went way above and beyond the call to fulfill my order long ago.

+1 on what's been said. My J frame rides in a Mika pocket holster too and IMHO its the best. About 5 minutes after I ordered it, Robert called me to chat about my needs! Great customer service. In about a week I received it and my S&W 36 has been in it ever since. Try one you will like it.

Long wait..

Not sure how long it took you to get your holster but I ordered mine in November of 2008 and I am still waiting..guess they are as good as some people say but not sure the wait is worth it..

What did Robert say when you called him? Just curious.

Mika holster..

We talked about what I did for a living, what kind of pants I would be wearing most of the time and what model I wanted it for..was indeed surprised when he called but understand this was part of the process..all5x

So you ordered a holster in 2008, never received it and you're complaining on a public forum instead of giving him a call?

I meant when you called him to ask where your holster was.

Earlier this year I had a Mika Pocket Holster that failed to show up in the normal amount of time, which is about 2 weeks or therabouts, so I called Bob at the end of a month's time and he checked his records. He found that while he thought it had shipped, it hadn't and he had me fixed up in less than a week.

Five years ago I ordered one for my 296 - and one for a 642, should I ever get one. I did soon buy a 642 - and they are still in fine shape. I decided to backup my pocket holsters a year or so later. After almost 24/7 EDC of my 642 for over four years, I may never need my backups. But, glutton I am, I have them. He is a fine fellow, and despite his apologies for his being busy, both orders were filled in two weeks. I've had other holster makers quote a 6-12 month wait! Robert is a fine fellow.

ordered one, got a call from MIKA when he received order, he said it would be here in two weeks and it was, great product reasonable cost possibly the gentleman that ordered in NOV of 08 was mistaken and ordered a TYLER T GRIP although now things are supposedly much better

follow-up

I did indeed attempt to contact Mr. Mika after the first of the year..actually a little later than that as several people posted that he was having family issues and was trying to deal with them..was told to give him a chance to handle those issues before contacting him..good suggestion..waited till Summer of '09 but still got no response..figured he must really be in deep Kimsee..it only cost me $20 so I figured I learned a cheap lesson..no big deal for that price..just wanted to add my experience as someone was thinking of buying the holster for the same type of revolver..can't fault a guy for that..so I spent another .02 on the holster by proving input and again, not a big deal..all5x

I too had a great experience with Mr. Mika, and I doubt he would want to take your money knowingly and not give you your holster. I'd give him another chance (phone call, e-mail).

I ordered a holster from him about 4 or 5 years ago for my 642. It didn't show up for a while so I e-mailed him and asked what the problem was. He told me it had shipped out 2 weeks earlier. He then told me he would send me another one. I received it just a few days later.
Then received the other one about a week later. I have no idea where it had been. I e-mailed Robert and told him that I received my first one after all and he told me to keep it for my trouble.
He's a stand up guy with great customer service.

I ordered one several years ago as well. After a few weeks I inquired and he said he had a lot of things going on and would get to it. After another two months I inquired again. He said he was busy with his day job but would look into it. I talked with him again a few weeks later and he said he had shipped it. A few weeks later after it never showed I talked with him again and he apologized and said he would look into it when he wasn't so busy. After a few months I tried one more time and his tone suggested he though I was trying to cheat him by claiming I hadn't received what I had ordered. At that point I just gave up and decided if it comes, great, if not, then not to worry. I was under the impression that this is a side venture for him and he is not very organized. It is too bad because for those that actually did receive what they ordered the feedback is almost universally positive.

I placed an online order for two of his holsters to fit j frames. He called about 15 minutes later. During our conversation I told him I was a retired LEO so we spent a few minutes "talking shop". He wants me to notify him as soon as the holsters arrive. Nice guy and I am looking forward to getting my holsters.

Several years ago, I ordered a holster from Robert over the phone and when it didn't show up after a few weeks, I called him and he said that it had somehow slipped his mind. When I got it about a week later, it was on the house.

It's a great holster, it shows zero sign of wear after everyday use over several years, and Robert is a standup guy.

i ordered one from him back in 2008 and knew it would be awhile. i had a desantis nemisis to use in the mean time. back then it took a while but when it arrived, the nemisis has never been used again. recently i got another Mika as a spare - don't know why, the first one seems like it'll last forever.
