I've put about 500 rounds downrange and am very happy with my Sport II. It is very fun to shoot. I did buy and install a Holosun 515c red dot and shoot that and the iron sights. I've mostly been shooting from a bench between 50-100 yards (about the limit of my eyes without magnification). I will work in some off hand shooting as I get more comfortable with my rifle.

My goal for now is to tighten up my groups a bit as I continue to learn about my gun and the ar platform. I have been frustrated with the stock trigger. The creep seems inconsistent and gritty. I've spent a ton of money on ammo, so wanted to go midrange/low end on the trigger while still getting an upgrade and improvement. I'm not shooting competition, just recreational.

After a lot of reading, I ordered a rock river 2-stage NM trigger group http://www.ar15sales.com/store/miscparts.html.

Reading and watching about installation and have a couple of questions.

1) Will it fit? I've read that RRA uses a little bigger pins .155 vs .154.
2) Do I need to worry about the pins walking out? I think I saw or read that the rra trigger springs hold the pins in.

Sorry for the basic questions, this will be my first gun "mod." Seems pretty straight forward. If there is anything further I need to know or think about, feel free to let me know.

RR sends their match trigger with some new slightly oversized pins, you will have to pound them in. If you want to remove the trigger, you will also have to pound them out, I would not worry about pins walking with that kit. My first RR match trigger is amazing (2008), not as good as a Giessle but close, the second on I got (2011) has a decent break but a gritty return. I recommended them to a close friend(2016), we had to grind down the safety shaft to get his to work.
 
I was able to clean up the contact surfaces between the hammer and sear, to get a very smooth 5lb pull. I then bought the JS spring set, with the red, reliability hammer spring and it now breaks at a very smooth 4lbs. Total cost of springs, $14 delivered.

Your money, your decision. I've owned an RRA AR, and it had a good trigger. But it's really hard to beat a Geisselle SSA, and I think it's better to spend the money and cry once for a durable and excellent product.

Yeah, I know, but have a wife and budget I have to deal with ;)
I was advised to shoot it a bunch and then decide if I need any mods. I've bought enough ammo to shoot it a bunch and shot it enough to know I want to upgrade the trigger. I've got enough ammo to shoot it a bunch more, but need to slow down the budget a little, so wanted to go with a more budget friendly trigger...at least for now...
 
Ordered from ar15sales.com on Sunday, received the trigger today (Wednesday). OUTSTANDING.

Easy install. The pins fit the lower without issue.

Got to the range today and love the trigger. Much better than stock. Smooth and consistent first stage take up slack. Consistent and crisp break.

May not be as good as some of the higher end and more expensive triggers, but I guess I don't miss what I've never had. ;)

Exactly my experience putting the RRA two-stage in a Smith M&P-15 ~8 years ago (terrible, creepy, heavy, scritchy factory trigger on an otherwise very nice rifle) and again about one year ago with a couple more home builds. I figger the M&P-15 now shoots better than I can, and until (if) I get really serious, I see good enough value for the money.

I had a RR 2 stage in the early production S&W M&P15 before I sold it. Have that trigger in all but one of my ARs. I like them allot
