A few weeks back I found this documentary on the Roku channel,
Rocketman: Mad Mike's Mission to Prove the Flat-Earth
and while I saw the comment about flat earth, I also saw that he's doing it all by himself. Well, almost.
Long story short, I watched it yesterday with my wife, and it was very inspiring. People laughed at him, people ridiculed him, they even wished him death.
This is one of the most anti-American behavior I've seen in a long time, and that movie is from 2019.
I admire people who dream and keep working on that dream, that's the American way. People who risk something, believe in something, daring to get there, showing resilience and toughness.

Unfortunately, his haters will now have to live with the fact that he was indeed killed while piloting his homemade rocket ship.
It's bad, so please don't watch it if you can't stomach it (no blood, just the impact!!)

It appears to me that the parachute deployed at the start and that there was no second chute, no backup safety net. It seems to be such an amateur mistake. Perhaps mechanical failure, I don't know.
Again, the documentary is very interesting, and I don't want to spoil it. So please watch it if you can. Maybe he was down on his luck, maybe he was a bit different, but he sure was no crazy. I think the flat earth theory came in to raise more funds for the project. I'm not hung up on that. Like I said, he was a dreamer, he did what he wanted to do, and he died doing what he loved. That guy should get more credit.
If he would have had a NASA budget, he'd easily propelled himself into orbit!!
