Can you help me out? These do not fit any hand ejector that I own. I do not own any top-breaks, except for a couple of perfected 3rd model 22 single shots.

What do you think - perhaps a Model 3 or a New Model 3?

I also posted them in the Roper thread in the Pre-war HE section of the forum.

Thanks in advance,

Definitely for a RB S & W. Can you give us the length of the bottom (flat) cutout of the inletting, or a list of all of your HEs? :)

Beautiful set of Ropers. My problem is the apparent relief cut for a stud or screw head at the top of the left panel. That looks NM#3 to me.

Bob

I'll tell you what! 300 and some-odd folks viewed this thread before "red9" came along. Now, not all of them have a NM#3 to look at; but I'll bet almost all of them have pictures to look at. It appears he's the only one to look long and hard, and use his head. And a fine head it is!

At this point, I don't even know if he's right; but he did a first class job of detective work. My compliments!!

I wouldn't be surprised if that were the only set just like that. Custom left hand target stocks for a NM#3 probably weren't in much demand.

Thanks guys. Borrowing a couple of DanM's photos of the nicest NM #3 I've ever seen ("one that got away"), I think you all nailed it as a NM #3:

Let me add a set I just bought:

They are way too big for my Model 3 44 Double Action and K frame round butts, but something like the size of my Model 3 Russian, if not the right shape.

Are these for a New Model 3 maybe? I've never handled one.

If not, are there any other S&W round butts out there as big as a Model 3 Russian?

Richard, There is no doubt about it now. With appreciation and gratitude, Sal
