I just bought a Roy Baker Pancake for my 3" Chief's Spl. It is a good rig holds the gun in tight and rides well.

I have seen other s here and there on the forum. So.... I thought I would like to see other members R.B. holsters... so post them if you got them.

I would also like to learn more about the history of his rigs.

SWREVO's thread gave me the idea. He has a nice setup for his 19 snub.

C-44 is likely code for a Charter Arms Bulldog. I point this out as your J-frame looks just a tad small in that holster.

I just got this Roy Baker pancake off the auction site. It was made for
a 3" Model 19, but my Model 19 is a 4" and I don't like the look of the
extra inch sticking out of the end. Didn't want to get out the hacksaw,
so I put my 2" model 10 in it instead. I think it looks ok.

I have always preferred Roy Baker Pancake Holsters. My first handgun was a Model 19, four inch, which I bought when I was sworn in as a reserve deputy sheriff in my home county in 1978. I bought a Baker Pancake for it and basically fell in love with how it made the big gun disappear.

When I was employed with the NC Alcohol Law Enforcement Division in 1979, I was issued a Model 66-1, 2.5 inch and a black Roy Baker Pancake Holster. They were issue holsters for my agency and for the NC State Bureau of Investigation, which carried the same weapon.

Over the years I have bought and carried most of the major holster brands and many custom holsters. I have always come back to Roy Baker Pancake holsters when I could find them.

This is most of the Roy Baker holsters I have. I sometimes misplace some of them.

Model 1911 "Commercial" 4.25 inch holster

J Frame S&W Holsters. One 3 inch and the rest 2 inch (except for a 2.5 inch K that slipped into the photo)

2.5 inch K frame holsters

Four inch K frame, with one 6 inch at the bottom

N frame S&W, 4, 6 and 6.5 inch barrels

Finally: a Covey shot

I think I see 2 open top pancakes in your covey shot? I looked and looked
for one of those, but the only one I found was one that the owner had
cut the strap off. Didn't want that.

I have one for a Model 36 which I use for my Model 940 and one for a 6 inch N frame which I use for my 29-3 Classic Hunter. These are the only open top Baker Holsters I've been able to find and buy.
