Surprisingly, I couldn't find any reviews on the Ruger 10-22 Takedown. Appreciate any comments on this rifle and the available BX-25 magazine.

Google will help ya.

I bought one and it's a neat little rifle. Going through some scope wars right no but the rifle will cluster most of ten rounds within an inch at 50 yards if I'm doing my part.

Short review here The New Ruger 10-22 Takedown - YouTube The BX-25 magazines are out I don’t remember where I saw them but do a Google
search and you should find them. I was thinking about this and the AR-7 but didn’t like the fat stock on the AR-7. This is the same as the 10/22 except for being a take down so most parts will fit. Comes with backpack. Also comes in blue. Cabela’s has it listed as their Black Friday door buster sale for $299.99

I recently bought a Ruger 10/22 Takedown, and it is a nice rifle, as accurate as any other 10/22. I don't intend to scope mine, but I hear they hold zero well, as the barrell has a tension adjustment device that ensures the barrel and reciever go together snugly. The tension adjustment device is adjusted once when you first put the rifle together, then you don't have to mess with it again.

I carry mine in a day pack while hiking, I also bought two of the BX-25 magazines. They work good, very reliable. With the issued ten round mag and two BX-25 magazines, you have 60 rounds on hand, enough for any issue that arises....

It appears to be a cute little outfit, I've been considering one.

If Cabella's has a sale for them at $299.99, they'll sell like hotcakes!

Yes, thanks, I've googled it. What I originally meant was that I hadn't seen it reviewed on this forum. My LGS has one left for $328. I'm primarily a handgun shooter but thought the Ruger would be a fun addition to the collection. As for scopes, never used one but after looking around it appears many scopes cost more than the rifle.

Where I shoot they have Mouse Gun events every now and then. I normally shoot a CZ 452 but its hard to compete with semis.

Anyway I was asking about the Ruger take down, and was told a guy who just stepped up to the line had one. I watched for a while and saw him have nothing but trouble.

Another guy pointed out that that guy was a bad example, he'd have the same problems with a single shot.

I've been asking around since and most of the responses have been positive.

I don't really need (as if need matters) another 22, but I'm thinking hard about it.

Rapid City isn't too far away.....they have a Cabelas.....maybe, just maybe.

re: 10/22 Take Down
Just got mine last week, 200 rounds down range. Label me "Impressed, enthusiastic, and very satisfied."

BX-25 are working well for me, no complaints.

Intend to use this in some Range Games, probably start with Steel Challenge.

I've had one for a while now. It's a very good rifle. I have a small red dot scope on it and shot it at our last steel match. Ran just great; I run either CCI mini-mags or AR tactical. I don't bother to run any other ammo.

Same here, but I have come to expect Ruger factory magazines to work. I had a couple of the (not cheap!) Butler Creek 25-rounders, and after nothing but frustration they both wound up getting thrown in the nearest trash can. Pure junk.
