I love the 10/22. Bought mine in 1985. (Has it really been 30 years???) Slapped on a cheap 4x scope and took it to the range. Target on left was shot at 50 yards rapid fire. Just wanted to see where it was going. My friend spotting for me said to take it up a click and shoot again. Right target is the result. Later put on an older but better scope but I haven't shot it seriously in a long time.

I know the 10/22 is popular to extensively modify but mine works and looks fine as issued and I feel no desire for a Spaceman Spiff looking stock or carbon fiber barrel or any other such stuff.

I really like the International Model with the full stock. Maybe I'll look for one.

Nice! I have been able to shoot pencils off erasers at 50 yards with my 10/22. Have replaced stock and put in an automatic bolt release, but barrel and trigger are stock.

I have a stock one that I bought in 1980. Great shooter! I think the Mannlicher stock on the International model looks awesome. The blued one is not outrageous, but if you like the stainless one, it is 7 bills.

BTW, I wonder how many total 10/22s have been sold. Has to be a bazillion.

Nice 10/22!

A 10/22 was my first gun, purchased with my paper route money in 1972. I still have it and shoot it regularly.

You would be wise to make note of the brand and lot of ammo you used to shoot those groups. It does not get any better that that, even with the best ammo in the best guns. One of the frustrations of rimfires is finding lot and brand of ammo that each individual gun rises to the top on the target. The next batch of same ammo or another brand and you may wonder what happed to the great group when nothing is different other that you used different ammo. Great groups and great shooting. You would be advised to keep those targets around to look at over time.

I used to have a half dozen 10/22's, then one day while trying to decide which one I wanted to hunt with that day, I realized how silly it was to have that many. Sold them all off except this one, a 2006, "Wally World Special" with a 4X Bushnell blister pack scope. It's had a trigger job done and that's pretty much it.

With Federal bulk pack hollow points, it's a squirrel killer, which is all I ask it do.

I purchased my first Ruger 10/22 in 1968. If I remember right it was about $54.95 at the time..
I'll never change it or sell it.. First one in the picture.. The other two have been modified a bit..

IMO the best 22 rifle out there.. :D

One of these days, I would like to get an International full stock model to add to the group.. Great little guns.. :)

ps: you can look up Mfg. date on Ruger's web site ,, http://www.ruger.com/service/productHistory.html#

Here's mine, a Deluxe Sporter that Ruger gave me as a replacement rifle when they couldn't fix my "Ho-Hum" birch stock carbine. This one has a walnut stock, rubber butt plate, sling swivels, all the good stuff...

They even sent me all the good parts from the old rifle, a trigger group that had been worked to 3.5 pounds, improved bolt release, etc.

This one sports a Redfield "Revelation" 2 X 7 scope. Pictured with me squirrel hunting gear:
