A buddy of mine owns a pawn shop. He will send E-mails of deals to a few customers, of which I am one.

Has a Ruger P94 Pistol 9MM used, with three 15 round mags for $235.00 OTD. This sounds like a real good price.
I own a few Rugers all in .22lr. Like them a lot. That said, never had a center fire.

My question is: Is there bad history on the P94?
Or did he just get a really great deal and wants to move it?
Help! I need to decide tonight.

I have the P944, which is the 40 caliber version of the P94. It is a very stout, pleasant-to-shoot gun. It is quite heavy, which helps with recoil but they are built like a tank and very reliable; I've never had any problems with mine and I don't think they have any history of problems. They came in a couple of different variations, such as decocker only, decocker with safety, etc. I think $235 is a good price, depending of course on condition.

Thanks,
Built like a tank and very reliable: Works for me!
Will get in the AM, if not already gone.

Rugers never jam. :)

Yeah, I heard that too from another. I don't use "never" with any machine. "Hardly ever" sounds better.

I 'm sitting here kicking my self in the head. I have done this to often. I get the e-mail, think HMMMMW $____ not a bad price, or just run up on a what appears like a deal.
Then I try to over reserach it, etc.

A friend told me a few months ago. "Just go with your gut feelings". "You know guns and prices see a deal, grab it".

I went to buy it this morning. Already sold! Guess who bought it. My Friend who told me ....

I called him up to give him some good natured hell. He just laughed, and told me he had a Ruger 94 in 9mm with 3 Mags he would let me have for $250.00. LOL

Another kick. My head is hurting.

I did not keep either of these two guns. They worked just fine, and shot well, but were in need of refinishing. While they could of been made prettier, they would continue to be large and clunky so I made a guy a deal on both and they now reside in a fabulous houseboat on Lake Lanier.

I have purchased Glock and S&W's for less money.

IMO the metal framed P series was underrated. Heavy, yes. Built to take a likken? Also yes.

In good condition, $235 would be a good price here in Kalifornistan. They're not making any more of them.

EDIT: Ooops! With 3 mags that would be a very good deal.

I bought a brand spankin new P95 a couple of months ago, priced at $319 with two mags, the hard carrying case, the magazine loader and the gigantic gun lock. Bought it because I'd shot a buddy's P95 a bit and liked the SA trigger pull over my SW40VE's DAO. It's now my daily carry, I've got almost 300 rounds through it with no malfunctions at all with assorted brands of ammo. Can't complain about it at all.

jpc3547 hello everybody

I have one brought it in 1994. when they came out, still going storng.

Guy22 you should have brought that gun

Yeah should, would, could. But didn't.

I have bought 3 of them since then. Bought 3 Houge wrap around grips for ~ $30.00 on E-Bay.

Cleaned the heck out of them. Re-painted the sights. Installed the new grips. They look new.

I sold two of them back too the pawn shop I got them from.
Got some money back. He has 4 more coming, and asked if I would do the same magic.
I told him yeah for 500 rounds of 9mm.
So it all worked out.

If you can find a Ruger P94 for under $250.00 jump on it.

I had only one handgun on my "list to buy" that wasn't a S&W. It was a P-95 and my wife bought if for me a few weeks before Christmas. Stainless and brand new with the light rail on the dust cover for $309. Took it shooting 3 times, had to move the rear sight over alittle and added some skateboard tape to the grip. Love it! The Ruger P series are way underrated!
