1. I believe that the Ruger Redhawk came with a few different front sights. One of the replaceable front sights had a "gold bead."

Does anyone have have one of these original replacement front sights for the Redhawk with the gold bead that they would like to sell? I would like two if I could find them.

2. I think that the Blued Redhawks came out after the Stainless Redhawks, however, the Stainless Redhawks seem to be more popular even though there far fewer Blued Redhawks than Stainless ones.

Besides the greater corrosion resistance of the Stainless Redhawks, and possibly the look of the stainless ones, are there any other advantages to the stainless guns, or the blued ones just as good?

Sir, the gold bead front sight you mention normally was paired with a shallow V express-type rear sight. They came as a set, and normally were an accessory item rather than original equipment. I don't have any, but you might check with Ruger directly. They have a PDF of their catalog on their web site. If Ruger doesn't have it, try Brownells.

Yes, the Redhawk originally came out in stainless, 'round about 1983, I think. The blued versions came out later. Exactly why there are more stainless Redhawks than blued ones I don't know. I've never heard anything bad about the blued ones. Just guessing, stainless is simply more popular these days, and bluing adds a step to the production process.

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

Here is one of my two 5" guns with the gold bead sight in place. This is a .41 Mag version, stocks are Ivory. :)
