Ruger SR-22 opinions?

Had one for a short while when they came out loved it got a nice Mitch Rosen holster for it, ate everything,work like a champ and similar in style to my P95. The exwife took it, so I recently got another, it got thrown in the safe and has not been shot. No time and cold anyways hoping this one works as well as the first it was test fired in the early months of 2014 by Ruger. Just wanted to hear some feedback from others. Thanks.

We have the SR-22P. Took quite a few rounds to break in, but eventually became a reliable fun little gun to shoot.
Does not like Thunderbolt .22LR ammo though, sends melted lead out the muzzle, and a real bugger to clean when that happens.

I got one 2 years back, have shot it a fair bit, and it has been perfectly reliable, hasn't jammed once. Can't claim to have vast amounts of experience with it, but have put roughly a cumulative 1000 rounds of several different brands through it without a hiccup.

I bought one a few years ago for the kids to use at the range. It is very susceptible to limp-wristing. It works fine for me, but the kids can't make it through the second mag before getting failures to extract.

I have not heard any other complaints along these lines, so I sent the pistol to Ruger. The same issue existed when I got it back.

The SR-22 rarely comes out of the safe. I'll replace it eventually. My 14 year old is hooked on the M&P 15-22 and my 9 year old prefers the Model 10 snub, so there's no real rush.

SR-22

I use two of them in the CCW class I teach. For people with small hands and limited hand strength, they have proved to be an excellent training platform. The mag release, slide release and decocking/safety levers are properly positioned and allow good habit transfer to a lot of larger semi-autos. Both have been very reliable and seem to be as accurate as one could expect for this type of pistol. They are reasonably priced and make a wonderful "first handgun" purchase for a lot of my students. There isn't much I don't like about the SR-22. Ruger got it right.

I love mine, compared to a Walther P22 I had that was a piece of junk. After shooting the SR22 I immediately traded off the Walther. The funny thing was the Walther would eat Thunderbolts all day long. Everything else would jam or stovepipe.

I have 2 of them . The first one I bought did not have a threaded barrel. I bought a suppressor . Was considering just buying an aftermarket threaded barrel but decided just to buy the sr22 with a threaded barrel. So after I bought a new gun I saw the barrels were on sale so I bought a new barrel . So now I have 2 with the thread d barrels. They have been good guns and fun to shoot.
