I received a big (N-Frame) S&W revolver from the "teens" yesterday that I bought in an auction. I did not know the holster was included, as it was never mentioned in the auction description.

It turns out it is marked S.D. Myres El Paso, and is in beautiful condition. It is very plain, but the quality is obvious. No scratches or stains.

I am curious about this holster, its age and what it might be worth, although I suspect it would be difficult to replace, so it might be best for me to keep it. It is a Canadian marked revolver bought out of Vermont, so the holster travelled a ways from El Paso.

Thanks all.

Here is the revolver with a 6 1/2 " barrel

The Border Patrol/duty-type holsters, like yours, don't seem to bring as much as Threepersons-style or the fancier carved holsters, but if it fits your gun well, I'd definitely keep it with it. Holsters, of any type, for 6.5" barrel double actions are fairly scarce, another reason to hold onto it. It's a quality holster no matter the monetary value.

That's a nice gun and holster, a good package.

I agree with -db-. Your holster is most likely from the '50's. I frequently see similar examples sell in the $30-$50 range.

Thanks - it's worth WAY more than that for me to have a good-fitting holster for a sort of unusual size revolver.
